Why is the Word of God important?
Our church firmly believes in sound hermeneutical preaching and teaching from the scriptures because we live in a very deceitful world. In our house groups the Word of God is fully explored, as we help people to know their Bibles better. The Bible is also taught to our children in Sunday school, especially at a time when many children know more about Bob the Builder than Jesus. In fact, the more people know about the truth of the Bible they will be able to find answers to some of the biggest questions in their lives! 'That we from now on be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive...' (Ephesians 4:14)
What happens when God’s Word is rejected?
The Word of God has been rejected by many in our nation at a high price. For example, our national institutions and government prefer to have sinful man-made morals based on cultural changes, as opposed to everlasting divine morals based on God’s Word. Therefore, is it any wonder that our nation has rapidly slid into moral decline! However, we believe that the Bible has the answers for this moral decline:
'For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.' (John 3:16)
Why theology?
We believe that sound theology is necessary because it defines who you are and what you stand for:
We Believe
1. In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
2. In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
3. That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
4. That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.
