The Principles & Background
The first men's breakfast started in Campbell Scott house in November 2008. Since then it has grown to be a popular event with local men from various church backgrounds and non-church backgrounds.
The three key principles that the men's breakfast was founded on are:
- Trust
- Transparency
- Testimony
Please note that the men's breakfast has no denomination tag, or a particular church controlling it. However, in an effort to avoid any kind of suspicion the men's breakfast is registered with the Church of God Nairn's charity number (the breakfast has its own bank account). Therefore, the men's breakfast is fully accountable to those who give financially to it. At the same time, all money donated to this event are recorded and submitted to OSCR and HMRC Charities annually. If you require further information regarding the set up of the men's breakfast, please contact Campbell Scott, (Men's Breakfast Co-ordinator).
The Men's Breakfast is supported regularly by the following churches:
- The Pentecostal Church of God Nairn
- The Church of God Inverness
- Nairn Baptist
- Nairn Christian Fellowship
- Inverness Christian Fellowship
- Nairn Free Church
- Nairn St. Ninian's (Church of Scotland)
- Church of God Elgin
Speakers have also come from other denominations and Independent groups:
- Culloden Baptist (Keith Martin)
- Christian Brethren (Neil Wilson)
- Independent (Donald Buchanan and Robert Evans)
- Free North Church, Inverness (Kenny Robertson and John Wagner)
- Kinmylies Church of Scotland, Inverness (George Barnie)...
