What is revival?
Revival is about God's Spirit moving in a powerful way and convicting people of their sin. The Bible tells us that,'If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14).' Indeed, our land and people need to experience the forgiveness of sin - we have much to repent of!
What sins do we need to repent of?
• We have intellectuals who deny the fact that God created this world...
• Our people will worship anything and everything except the God of the Bible...
• Our people blaspheme God's name because there is little respect for God, but in return
this has produced little respect for anyone else today...
• Our people have ignored the commands of God to rest, and we have produced a burnt-out and stressed society that can no longer enjoy life.
• Our people have failed to honour their mothers and fathers who once taught them about God. Maybe this is why we have produced so many dysfunctional families with children growing up with so many problems...
• Our people have no respect for life, and there are so many senseless murders today; even young children in the womb have been sacrificed in an effort to promote freedom of choice...
• People have failed to obey God's laws regarding sexual issues, and we have produced all kinds of sinful atrocious behaviour that fails to respect one another...
• Our financial system is built on greed, lies, and covetousness - it's time for repentance!
Therefore, we believe it is time that Christians should pray for revival in our land - a revival that will change us and our nation. It has happened before, and it can happen again!
